Compatibility & installation
Choose the right plugin format, install through the LIMINAL Hub, and find the plugin in your DAW.
Based on the current published downloads and Hub 0.2.5 · Updated October 18, 2026
Choose your platform and format
| Platform | Plugin format | Current Hub download |
|---|---|---|
| Apple Silicon Mac | VST3 or Audio Unit | Apple Silicon app; its binary targets macOS 11 or later |
| Intel Mac | PARALLAX’s Mac package contains Intel VST3 and Audio Unit binaries | The current Hub app is Apple Silicon-only; see the note below |
| 64-bit Windows, x86-64 | VST3 | Windows x64 installer; WebView2 Runtime is needed for the interface |
Logic Pro uses Audio Units on Mac. Use VST3 in a host that supports VST3. AAX, VST2, CLAP, Linux and mobile packages are not included in the current PARALLAX downloads.
The package formats and processor architectures have been inspected. A complete DAW/version test matrix and minimum supported Windows version have not been published. Check your host’s requirements, and ask us about a specific setup before buying a paid plugin.
Using an Intel Mac?
PARALLAX’s plugin package is universal: it contains Intel and Apple Silicon binaries. The current Mac Hub download is an Apple Silicon app. That app will not run natively on an Intel Mac.
Contact info@liminalloud.com for Intel installation options. Include your macOS and DAW versions. We have not published an Intel Hub installer, so do not choose the Apple Silicon Hub for an Intel machine.
Install through the Hub
- Create your account on the website. Open Account to register or sign in. PARALLAX, STGR and EDGR are free; purchases are required for the paid plugins.
- Download the Hub. Get the installer from the official download page for your supported system.
- Open the Hub and sign in. Use the same account email you used for any purchases. Internet access is needed to authenticate and download or update plugins.
- Choose the plugin and format. Select Install. On Mac, choose Audio Unit or VST3 for your host; on Windows, choose VST3. The Windows shared-folder install may request administrator approval.
- Open your DAW. Restart it or rescan its plugin list. Find the plugin in its audio effects browser. PARALLAX is an effect for a stereo audio path.
Installation FAQ
Does a free plugin require a paid checkout?
PARALLAX, STGR and EDGR are free. Create your account on the website and sign in to the Hub to install them. A purchase of CTTR, DRPPR, THCKR or the bundle is separate.
I bought a plugin, but the Hub still shows Buy. What should I check?
Check that you signed in with the same account email used at checkout. Refresh the Hub or sign out and back in so it can fetch your entitlements. If it remains locked, contact support with your purchase email and order ID. Do not send your password, card details or license files.
Where are the plugin files installed?
On Mac, the Hub installs VST3 to ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3 and Audio Units to ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components. Windows Hub 0.2.5 uses the shared VST3 folder, normally C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3, and can offer a custom location. Earlier Hub versions used %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\Common\VST3. Check the location shown by your installed Hub and make sure your DAW scans it.
The plugin is installed but missing from my DAW. What next?
Confirm you installed a format your host supports. Restart the DAW, rescan its plugins, and check its failed-plugin or disabled-plugin list. If you chose a custom Windows folder, add that folder to the host’s VST3 scan locations. Update the Hub if you are still using an older installer. Avoid installing a second copy into another folder while troubleshooting.
The Windows interface is blank or asks for WebView2. What do I install?
Install Microsoft’s Evergreen WebView2 Runtime from Microsoft, then close and reopen the plugin and DAW. WebView2 supplies the Windows interface; the audio plugin is still installed as VST3. Microsoft’s runtime documentation explains the download options.
Why does my system show an unverified-developer warning for the Hub?
The current Hub downloads are unsigned or not notarized. Your operating system may therefore block the first launch. Use the official LIMINALLOUD download page and review the operating system’s message before deciding whether to open it. Apple explains its Mac app checks and per-app opening options. On Windows, review the publisher and download source in the SmartScreen prompt. Contact support if you are unsure.
Do you support every DAW and operating-system version?
We have not published a complete test matrix. The current downloads establish the available formats and architectures, not universal compatibility. Email info@liminalloud.com with the plugin, DAW/version, operating-system version and processor type for help with your configuration.
What information helps support diagnose an installation problem?
Send the plugin name and version, Hub version, operating system, processor, DAW/version, selected format, install location and the exact error message or a screenshot. For a purchase issue, include the order ID. Keep passwords and payment details private.
